Every year, thousands of dolphins die in the Bay of Biscay due to bycatch in fishing nets. NGOs have been warning for years about the seriousness of the situation, But french State remains deaf to our demands and refuses to apply the European law. Today, without strong action by France, the european commission threatens to refer the matter to the Court of Justice of the European Union, as part of an infringement procedure. And yet, the standstill remains...
This photo exhibition aims to alert civil society to the reality of a situation that is no longer heard or seen.
The photographer testifies here to the reality of strandings on the beaches of the Bay of Biscay. The aesthetics of his photos contrast with the power of the message. And above all, it questions us: How can we remain indifferent to the massacre of the most emblematic of marine mammals? If we look away from the pain of a dolphin, what is left to be outraged about?
Once we are aware of this, we must propose solutions, because they exist! A round table will bring together scientists and NGOs around this theme. And tools will be proposed for everyone to act at their own level.
